I am A. J. Marquess, an unpublished writer of questionable quality who makes web pages for self-aggrandizement, fun, and occasionally profit. If you remember the Space Port, well, that was mine. It still is.
This is my attempt to show the world a little bit of what I do...and what I am willing to risk showing people.I write fantasy, although that is a simplification. I really write satiric gothic horror, adventure, pirate, outlaw ballads with a few forays into mystery, sword and sorcery, and the slightest hint of romance (although it never takes over as the driving force behind the plotline...ok, maybe once, but I can be forgiven). Basically, every story could get away with starting: "Once there was a pirate who loved a highwayman." If I ever get anything published, I swear I will dare someone to write the folk song.
If you ever see anyone else who's work falls into the genre, let me know. I would like to read those books, because I have been going crazy lately for a good book, as most of my friends know by now.
