Deep in the heart of the Carpathians, five mountains huddle together over a narrow valley. Their shadows sweep across the valley floor with a precision similar to that of a sun dial. There is a point on the valley floor where the shadows lie thickest. They never move, save to grow darker and change shape over the course of the day. In the heart of these shadows, nearest to their point of intersection, stands a black castle. It is said that in this castle sleeps a fiend...
